In the My Account section, you will see a pen below your profile picture. Tap on it and the first field you see is your Username. Your username must consist of letters, numbers and underscores. It cannot have spaces in between. After you are finished choosing your new Username, scroll down and click on the “Save Changes” button!
“Next Stop” is the place where you can write your next travel destination. If you are planning a trip to Morocco in a month, why don’t you mention it there? It will be visible on your profile, and people can give you tips based on that info!
For incoming messages just click on the pink button next to the message you want to be translated and it will be translated to your native language. For outcoming messages, hold the translate button for a second and you will see all the languages another user speaks. Choose one!
If you want to hide your pin on the map, all you need to do is turn off the visibility switch in the upper left corner of the Map screen. But hey, don't worry! Your exact location is never visible. You can also turn ON/OFF your approximate location (within 1 km/mi) at any time.
While logging in, you have a “Forgot Password” option. Select it and insert your Email. After that, you will receive an Email with the instructions and the link. Click on the link and open it via the app. It will ask you to choose a new password. After that, log in with your new info!
You need to have the latest version of the app and to enable video calls in your settings. Also, the other person has to enable them. When they do, you will see the video chat icon in the upper right corner. You click on it and send a request, which means the other person needs to allow you to call them in the future. When they do, you can call each other freely.
Once you establish the video call, turn off the camera to stay on an audio call.
An M badge indicates that the user you are speaking to is a Linguado Moderator.
Our Moderators are users of Linguado who are enthusiastic to support the mission of Linguado and want to help other users to navigate through the app.
You can apply to become a moderator by sending an email to go@linguado.com.
Simply introduce yourself, share your Linguado username and tell us why you would be a good fit to become a Linguado moderator.
If a user is making you uncomfortable or you do not wish to talk to someone, you can remove your link from them. To do so, go to their profile, click the three dots in the upper right corner, and press the "Unlink" button. In the same menu, you can "Report" and "Block" a user if you do not feel that unlinking is enough. If you find that this person may not be safe to other users to continue on this app, please report them.
It may happen that another user doesn’t want to communicate any further and has blocked your profile. We strongly advise adhering to the Linguado Code of Conduct to minimize any future issues on the matter, as Linguado has a strict no-tolerance policy against Sexual Harassment, Abusive Behavior, Racism, Spam, and Hate Speech.
When blocking a user you will no longer receive any notification or messages from them and any form of communication will cease until you choose to unblock them. Reporting a user will notify our in-app support team, where we will audit the situation and determine whether any actions need to be taken against them.
Unfortunately, we do not have that sort of feature. Suppose someone is sending you inappropriate material you do not wish to see. In that case, you always have the option to block or report the user.
Please remember to follow the Linguado Code of Conduct - Linguado does not tolerate Sexual Harassment, Abusive Behavior, Racism, Spam, and Hate Speech. If you break the rules, your account can and will be permanently deleted from the app.
